Translating Europe Workshop

Translating Europe Workshop

On March 18, “Translating Europe”, an initiative from the Directorate General for Translation of the European Commission, is organizing a workshop on the topic of “Quality work placements for translation students – Expectations and practices”. The workshop will delve into the current gap that has thus far existed between the academic world of translation theory and the professional practices of the translation industry. This workshop is part of the ongoing “European Masters in Translation” project which seeks to improve the collaboration between universities and translation companies by facilitating work placements of students in the EU.

Kim Harris (Managing Partner, text&form) and Katrin Marheinecke (Quality Manager, text&form) will be presenting their findings from a collaborate pilot project together with software publisher XTRF and the Multilingual Translation Faculty of the University of Turku.
